Automation specialist KUKA presents the LBR Med, a sensitive lightweight robot at the MEDICA fair in Duesseldorf, Germany, 11 November 2018. The smartphone opthalmoscope consists of a camera attachment and a specially developed app. With the this Portable Retinal Imaging System, low-cost mobile eye screening becomes available to all. This screening can detect the most common causes of blindness, including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and glaucoma, as well as other ocular diseases and conditions. The world's leading medical trade fair MEDICA with more than 5,200 exhibitors runs from 12 until 15 November 2018.
